Prime Minister Viktor Orbán paid a visit to duty headquarters of Operational Corps

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán paid a visit to the Budapest duty headquarters of the Operational Corps in charge of the management of the snow situation. The Prime Minister rendered accounts of his visit in multiple posts on his Facebook account.

“The Operational Corps at work. We’ll continue throughout the night. We’re taking care of each other,” the Prime Minister wrote in his latest post to which he also attached a video.

In the video, a manager of the headquarters informed the Prime Minister that the counties most at risk included Somogy, Veszprém and Komárom Counties. There are gusts of wind in the Northern and Transdanubian Uplands, but there are no blocked main roads.

Interior Minister Sándor Pintér said in the video that temperatures of minus 10, 15 to 20 could last for up to 10 to 14 days according to the latest forecasts. This poses a significant risk.

Mr Orbán said they do not expect any shortage of equipment. The only question is whether we operate our equipment well.

In an earlier post, the Prime Minister shared several photos of the work under way at the duty headquarters and wrote: ‘The Operational Corps at work. The heart of the defence effort: it’s from here that we oversee the management of the snow situation.’
