If Ukrainian President Zelenskyy wants to receive his money from Brussels, then he must reopen the Friendship (Druzhba) oil pipeline: if there is no oil, there is no money, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video he posted on Facebook on Tuesday.
Mr Orbán said just minutes previously, he held talks with the president of the European Council and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico about the Ukrainian oil blockade.
Hungary’s position remains unchanged. “If President Zelenskyy wants to receive his money from Brussels, then he must reopen the Friendship oil pipeline,” the Prime Minister stated.
He said: “Last week the Ukrainians refused to receive our experts, even though we sent them there. They are not engaging in talks, in fact, they openly admit that they have no intention of allowing cheap Russian oil to pass through to Hungary.”
“It seems to me that they are using the entire oil blockade to intervene in the Hungarian elections in support of the Tisza Party. That is why the situation is extremely simple: if there is no oil, there is no money,” Mr Orbán said.
