In the video posted on Facebook, the Prime Minister was asked regarding the fact that according to Politico, if Péter Magyar becomes prime minister, Ukraine’s EU accession will accelerate.
“If that was the case, that is indeed what would happen,” Mr Orbán said in answer.
The Prime Minister warned that Ukraine’s EU membership would destroy Hungarian agriculture and “the present pillars of the Hungarian economy.”
“Then it will also destroy Europe, but that’s not my problem, it’s the Europeans’ because if they set fire to the roof over their own heads, it’s their business, while we must concern ourselves with Hungary,” he added.
He stressed that Ukraine must not be allowed into the EU because it is utterly contrary to Hungary’s best interests.
“In summary, what would happen would be that they would phone here from Brussels, and then the Brussels puppet government would say ‘jawohl.’ When they call me, I usually tell them ‘nein, danke.’ That’s the difference,” Mr Orbán said.
