A year ago, Mario Draghi sounded the alarm in Budapest

A year ago, Mario Draghi sounded the alarm in Budapest: the competitiveness of the European Union lies in ruins. The Brussels bureaucrats did not heed this warning. Today, according to Draghi, the situation is even worse, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on his Facebook account on Tuesday.

Mr Orbán wrote: “We must keep Hungary on a course of growth in this environment. We will succeed.”

“We have launched the biggest housing programme in Hungary’s history. We have launched a pro-family tax revolution that is unique in Europe. Instead of senselessly detaching ourselves from Russian energy and by using green energy in a smart way, we have protected the reduction of household energy bills,” the Prime Minister listed.

Mr Orbán added: “Brussels is on the wrong track. We’ll continue on our own Hungarian path.”
