Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wished former Czech Prime Minister Adrej Babis attacked during campaign event a swift recovery

On Monday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wished former Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis a swift recovery. Mr Babis was hit multiple times by an attendee with a crutch at a campaign rally held in the settlement of Dobré in North Moravia.

“After Slovakia, violence has seeped into Czech politics as well. No wonder. His political adversaries have demonised Andrej Babis for years. This is the result. But they will not stop him. He will go on and win the elections,” Mr Orbán wrote on X.

“Get well soon, my friend,” the Hungarian Prime Minister added in his English-language post.

Mr Babis is the list leader of the opposition movement Action of Dissatisfied Citizens (ANO) in the Moravian-Silesian Region in the upcoming Chamber of Deputies elections in the Czech Republic scheduled for 3 and 4 October.
