Brussels wants to take European people’s money to Ukraine

Brussels’ proposal is a pro-Ukraine budget, and its objective is as clear as day: they want to take the European people’s money to Ukraine, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated in a video posted on his Facebook account on Wednesday.

The Prime Minister said at the Wednesday cabinet meeting, they heard Minister of Agriculture István Nagy and Minister for EU Affairs János Bóka. “We discussed the Brussels proposal. This is a budget proposed for a period of seven years. The picture that unfolds is more serious than we thought,” the Prime Minister said.

Mr Orbán added that things were hotting up not only in Brussels, but also at the Budapest representation of the European Council where Hungarian farmers demonstrated. “Brussels’ proposal can be summed up in such a way that this is a pro-Ukraine budget, and its objective is as clear as day: they want to take the European people’s money to Ukraine,” Mr Orbán pointed out.

He said this Brussels plan is poor even as a basis for further negotiations. Therefore, we propose that they withdraw it and prepare another one which serves not Zelenskyy and Ukraine’s interests, but the interests of the European people and European farmers.

“Brussels must be stopped,” Mr Orbán said in conclusion. In a post attached to the video, the Prime Minister said “Brussels must immediately withdraw its pro-Ukraine budget proposal.”
