In his video recorded after the meeting of the Defence Council, the Prime Minister said he had convened the meeting of the council because “in the past few days, Hungary has been targeted by an unprecedented secret service attack.” “Ukraine launched a coordinated smear campaign against Hungary in order to frustrate our voting initiative about their EU membership,” he added.
The Prime Minister announced that at the meeting of the Defence Council “it was also revealed that in the interest of the implementation of the operation, they reactivated their contacts in Hungary and launched an attack against the Hungarian Defence Forces with the assistance of a Hungarian party.”
“With this, a Hungarian opposition party played an active role in a Ukrainian secret service operation, this is unprecedented in human history,” the Prime Minister pointed out. Mr Orbán added that “we must expect further secret service operations before the closing of the opinion vote; the Hungarian services have prepared for this.”
“We will see the opinion vote through because neither Brussels, nor Kiev can decide over the Hungarian people’s heads,” the Prime Minister said.
