Washington – Panel discussion about conservative values 

On Thursday, the most renowned American conservative research and educational institution, the Heritage Foundation organised a panel discussion about the future of US-Hungarian relations; the guest on this occasion was Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orbán, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

President of the Heritage Foundation Kevin Roberts conducted the interview with Mr Orbán; members of the audience included some of America’s most prominent right-wing politicians, analysts and public figures. The discussion was introduced by conservative American politician, commentator, former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. The message of the discussion was that the world needs a movement that fights for justice, traditions, families and the people. 

During the closed-panel discussion, Mr Orbán addressed questions about the successes and challenges of Hungary’s conservative family and economic policies, the war in Ukraine, relations between the US and Hungary, President Trump, and his personal political beliefs. 

Following the programme, Mr Orbán held a discussion at the Hungarian Embassy in Washington D.C. with US media personality and political strategist Steve Bannon, advisor to former President Donald Trump.
