Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with Prime Minister of Georgia about political and economic cooperation

On Wednesday in Tbilisi, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had bilateral talks with Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The parties confirmed that the fact that both countries share similar principles strengthens political relations: both countries regard the preservation and representation of traditional national and Christian values as an important priority.

Hungary’s goal is – making good use of and supplementing the excellent Hungarian-Georgian political relations established in recent years – to engage in similarly successful cooperation with Georgia also in the fields of trade and the economy, the parties stated at the meeting.

Already today, major Hungarian businesses are present in Georgia; Hungarian investors are welcome in Georgia as trusted partners. There is especially significant potential in agricultural cooperation, they established.

The parties further spoke about the fact that Hungary offers 80 scholarship grants annually to Georgian students as part of the Stipendium Hungaricum programme, Mr Havasi reported.
