The Prime Minister also posted a video message in which he said the previous night what we had all been afraid of had finally happened: Iran attacked Israel with drones and missiles.
“We condemn the attack. However, the attack conveys the threat that an interstate war might throw the Middle East into chaos, and that in turn poses a threat, a serious threat to the entire world, including Hungary,” Mr Orbán said.
He added that today he had convened the Defence Council in order to take stock of the national security and economic consequences of the conflict for Hungary.
“I instructed the Interior Minister and the heads of counterterrorism to guarantee the Hungarian people’s security with all available means,” Mr Orbán said.
“On Tuesday, I will travel to Brussels where together with European leaders we will review the war situation that has developed. We must do everything we can to prevent the wars that are currently under way in the world from threatening the peace and security of Hungarian families,” the Prime Minister stated.
