We will also reinforce our diplomatic relations with Armenia 

On Wednesday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Armenian head of state Vahagn Khachaturyan who is in the Hungarian capital as part of an official visit, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

At the meeting, Mr Orbán said relations between the Hungarian and Armenian nations are strong and are based on mutual respect. 

The Hungarian people greatly appreciate Armenia’s cultural and Christian traditions. It is time to elevate diplomatic relations, too, to a high level, the Prime Minister said. 

At the meeting, the parties confirmed that in the future our economic and trade cooperation could also significantly improve, for instance, in the areas of energy and tourism, Mr Havasi reported.
