We have started preparations for EU presidency

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán and members of his cabinet attended a forum organised for the ministers who will chair the Hungarian EU presidency’s council formations in the second half of 2024, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The Prime Minister announced that Hungary had started preparations for its EU presidency. He stressed that there was no shortage of experience and expertise; his government is preparing for its second presidency which is almost unprecedented in Europe. We are ready for the task of managing the challenges facing Europe in a coordinated and effective manner, Mr Orbán said.

The Prime Minister thanked members of the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union, Director-General for General and Institutional Policy Didier Seeuws and Director-General for Communication and Information Agnieszka Bartol for having accepted the invitation and paid a visit to Budapest in order to share their experiences with Hungarian ministers as part of a two-day preparatory conference.
