The Hungarians don’t want to die for Ukraine

While sympathising with the Ukrainians and recognising their plight, the Hungarians don’t want to die for Ukraine, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in a video posted on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

On his social media account, Mr Orbán said “we don’t want our children to be sent – in the form of the Hungarian army – to the Ukrainian front or to even be deployed to Ukrainian territory, and to return from there in coffins.”

“We don’t want the Hungarian people’s money to be sent to Ukraine. We don’t want household energy prices to increase two and a half-fold due to the assistance provided for Ukraine and their EU membership,” the Prime Minister added.

In his post, Mr Orbán also wrote that President Zelenskyy attacked us because the Hungarians do not want to die for Ukraine.
