Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s message to President of Russia Vladimir Putin: Maintaining a dialogue is a fundamental condition for creating peace 

After the official announcement of the result of the presidential election in Russia, on Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated Vladimir Putin on his re-election as president of the Russian Federation, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

The Prime Minister wrote he was happy that cooperation between Hungary and Russia rested on mutual respect which enabled the two countries to discuss important issues even in the present extremely difficult geopolitical situation. 

Mr Orbán pointed out that Hungary stood for peace. We are convinced that maintaining a dialogue is a fundamental condition for restoring peace within the shortest possible time. 

The Hungarian Prime Minister reassured the Russian president that Hungary was ready to enhance cooperation between our countries in sectors not restricted by international law, Mr Havasi reported, outlining the content of the congratulatory message.
