Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to pay a visit to Turkey

On Saturday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will travel to Ankara where he will attend the inauguration of President of the Republic of Türkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The inauguration ceremony of the re-elected Turkish head of state will take place in the afternoon in the presidential palace where Recep Tayyip Erdogan will host state leaders from all over the world at a ceremonial dinner, Mr Havasi reported, adding that the Prime Minister thought it was important to honour President Erdogan’s personal invitation as his election victory is a key development from the respect of the security of Hungary and Europe.

The press chief recalled that in a radio interview on Friday, Mr Orbán said it would have been a tragedy had Recep Tayyip Erdogan not won the Turkish elections because his opponent was a pro-war candidate and George Soros’s man who would have let the four million refugees currently living in Turkey loose on Europe in the event of his election victory. Additionally, if Turkey had a leader supported by George Soros, it is highly doubtful whether Russian gas would reach Hungary via the pipeline there.
