Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received President of Chad 

On Sunday evening, as part of a dinner in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of the Republic of Chad Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno who came to Hungary on an official two-day visit. On Monday, the Prime Minister will have further bilateral talks with the President of Chad, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Chad is a key country in Africa in the fight against illegal migration. Migration from Africa to Europe cannot be stopped without the countries of the Sahel region. Therefore, Hungary is building a cooperation partnership with Chad – these are the main topics of the official talks. 

The parties will also discuss the topic of the shared fight against international terrorism, the exchange of experience and knowledge in the area of defence, joint training and the possibility of joint operations, the press chief’s communique reads.
