Prime Minister Viktor Orbán instructed Foreign Minister to summon Ukrainian ambassador

On Monday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán instructed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó to summon the Ambassador of Ukraine to Hungary. The Prime Minister spoke about this in a video he posted on Facebook on Monday.

Mr Orbán said last week Ukrainian political leaders, including the president himself, issued multiple insulting and threatening messages towards Hungary and the Hungarian government.

“Our national security services have assessed this latest Ukrainian attack and concluded that these events are part of a coordinated series of Ukrainian actions aimed at interfering in the Hungarian elections,” the Prime Minister stated.

He stressed: We cannot allow anyone to endanger Hungary’s sovereignty or the integrity of Hungarian elections.

“That is why today I instructed Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó to summon Ukraine’s ambassador to Hungary. We will defend Hungary’s sovereignty and interests,” the Prime Minister laid down.
