Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade

On Friday as part of a working visit, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić in Belgrade, the Communications Division of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The parties spoke about the development of Hungarian-Serbian energy cooperation. In the sanctions environment that developed in the wake of the Russo-Ukrainian war, Serbia has become a key country from the viewpoint of Hungary’s natural gas supply. Every day, 20 million cubic metres of natural gas comes to Hungary via Serbia.

The next strategic goals are the construction of a crude oil pipeline and the doubling of the capacity of electricity connections between the two countries. Preparations for both projects are under way, MTI was informed.
