Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with Prime Minister of Romania about bilateral relations and Romania’s Schengen membership 

Following their meeting last year, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conducted talks in Bucharest with Romanian Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu again this year, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

The two leaders discussed topical issues concerning Hungarian-Romanian bilateral relations. 

Mr Orbán also reassured his negotiating partner that Hungary – currently holding the rotating presidency of the Council of the European Union – will in the autumn place the issue of Romania’s full accession to the Schengen Area on the agenda, Mr Havasi reported.
