Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of Uzbekistan on Saturday

On Saturday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Uzbek head of state Shavkat Mirziyoyev as part of a working visit, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI on Saturday. 

Mr Orbán congratulated the President of Uzbekistan on his July election victory. He was happy to acknowledge that Hungarian-Uzbek strategic partnership extends to ever more areas, and bilateral relations are gradually expanding, including through the entry of OTP Bank into the Uzbek financial market and the launch of direct flights connecting the two capitals together. 

According to plans, Mr Mirziyoyev will attend the 20 August celebrations and will also visit the World Athletics Championships, Mr Havasi reported.
