The two leaders prasied the excellent educational and scientific cooperation that exists between the two countries. At the Brussels talks, members of the Hungarian and Ecuadorian delegations signed a memorandum of cooperation regarding the Stipendium Hungaricum scholarship programme. With regard to the popularity of the programme in Ecuador, the Hungarian government has raised the annual quota from the original 50 to 75 persons.
Mr Orbán and Mr Lasso also reviewed opportunities for the development of bilateral cooperation in the fields of visa policy, trade relations, energy, water, climate policy and humanitarian affairs, the press chief reported.
