Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank

On Monday in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) Jin Liqun, Bertalan Havasi, the Deputy State Secretary heading the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The meeting of Viktor Orbán and Jin Liqun was also attended by Minister for Economic Development Márton Nagy.
The parties highlighted that the fruits of Hungary’s policy of easterly opening are beginning to ripen, Asian companies – Chinese, Korean and Japanese – are now the largest foreign working capital investors in the country, and the interest, market presence and activity of Asian commercial banks are also intensifying.
Hungary attributes an important role to Asian capital in the attainment of its strategic national economy development goals, and looks upon its AIIB membership as a bridge which promotes its increased involvement in Asia, Mr Havasi reported.
