Mr Orbán spoke about the work of the organisation and the Secretary General in words of praise; in his view, the OECD is one of the few international platforms that adopts a pragmatic and common sense-based approach.
In recent years, the OECD has been a valuable partner for Hungary also in preparing for the talks conducted with the European Commission on the issue of EU funds. We likewise greatly appreciate the OECD’s objective professional opinions on the reform of the public procurement system, the issue of the sustainability of the pension system and the assessment of the anti-corruption strategy, the Prime Minister highlighted.
At the Tuesday meeting, Mr Orbán and Mr Cormann expressed concern due to processes pointing in the direction of the development of blocs in the world economy and the strengthening of voices urging decoupling and isolation.
