Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with Chairman of IDU-former Prime Minister of Canada

On Thursday in the Carmelite Monastery Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received former Prime Minister of Canada Stephen Harper, Chairman of the International Democrat Union (IDU), an alliance of centre-right political parties, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the meeting, the parties reviewed opportunities for the closer international cooperation of right-wing, conservative parties. The war in Ukraine and its impacts on world politics were among the key topics discussed, Mr Havasi reported.

The Munich-based IDU is an alliance representing more than 80 right-wing, conservative parties from around the world; on behalf of Hungary, Fidesz takes part in the organisation’s work.
