Prime Minister Viktor Orbán evaluated past year of Hungary’s nation policy in company of leaders of Hungarian organisations beyond the borders

On Friday as part of a working lunch, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán met with the leaders of Hungarian organisations beyond the borders in Tusnádfürdő (Baile Tusnad, Romania), Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

The meeting was attended by President of the Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania Kelemen Hunor, President of Slovakia’s Hungarian Alliance party Krisztián Forró, President of the Alliance of Vojvodina Hungarians Bálint Pásztor, President of the Democratic Union of Hungarians of Croatia Róbert Jankovics, President of the Hungarian Self-Governing Ethnic Community of Pomurje Dusan Orban, Deputy Prime Minister Zsolt Semjén, János Nagy, the State Secretary heading the Office of the Prime Minister, and President of the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the National Assembly Zsolt Németh.

They established that thanks to the nation policy for Hungarian communities beyond the borders of the past few years, Hungarian communities beyond the borders have gained in strength in every field of life. 

“We are maintaining and developing systems of institutions in the fields of education, culture, church life, sports and the media. We have also reinforced the system of Hungarian political institutions beyond the borders. In the elections held in 2023 and 2024, the Hungarian parties of the Carpathian Basin retained their positions equally on the national, regional and local levels,” the communication reads.
