We are going to set up a Hungarian-Slovak investigative committee to clarify the state of the Druzhba crude oil pipeline, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán announced after he consulted with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on the telephone on Friday. He said it will be the task of the Hungarian-Slovak investigative committee to go out to the site and ascertain the reality in the ground with their own eyes.
In the video posted on Facebook, Mr Orbán called upon Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to let the Hungarian and Slovak inspectors in, to provide the conditions necessary for their work and to restart the Druzhba crude oil pipeline.
The Hungarian Prime Minister stressed that not only Hungary, Slovakia was also under an oil blockade.
He said “Zelenskyy and Ukraine are blocking” the Druzhba oil pipeline, and this is a threat not only for Hungary, but also for Slovakia.
He pointed out: “Zelenskyy and his people claim” that there are technical obstacles to the resumption of the operation of the oil pipeline; however, according to Slovakia and Hungary’s “knowledge” this is not true, there are no technical obstacles of any kind, the pipeline has been shut down purely for political reasons.
