The Prime Minister said he received a letter from President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen. She writes that Ukraine’s financing gap is significant. “And in this letter, she asks for money from us. The President asks for money from the Member States,” the Prime Minister said, revealing the content of the letter. He observed that he was trying to understand it and to send a reply to the letter if possible on Tuesday, but “it’s not that simple.”
“I’m trying to control my first impulses in order to write a polite letter because it’s astonishing that at a time when it has become clear that a war mafia is siphoning off European taxpayers’ money, and God only knows where that money goes, instead of demanding real oversight or suspending payments, the Commission President suggests we send even more,” the Prime Minister said.
Mr Orbán added: This whole matter is a bit like trying to help an alcoholic by sending them another crate of vodka. “I will have to tell the President this in polite terms tomorrow,” the Prime Minister said.
In a comment attached to the video, the Prime Minister wrote: “We will not flush our money down golden toilets.”
