In Hungary, Central Europe’s largest Jewish community can live in peace

On the occasion of the Jewish New Year, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán greeted the leaders of Jewish organisations and members of the Jewish community in Hungary in a letter, the Communications Division of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

“When there are wars being waged in a number of places around the world and in some cities of our continent there is growing anti-Semitism, the desire for peace and calm is becoming stronger than anything. Hungary promises nothing other for the coming year either than to remain an island where Central Europe’s largest Jewish community can live, prosper and celebrate in peace,” Mr Orbán wrote.  “May you all be written and sealed for a good year,” the Prime Minister wrote in conclusion.
