Mr Orbán stressed that, for the time being, he had held a discussion with the president-elect at which they had congratulated one another, said the Prime Minister, “mostly I congratulated him.” There will be talks once he has taken office, the Prime Minister stated.
He said “when two people, two men sit down today to talk to each other whether in Europe or in America, they can hardly avoid exchanging a few words about war and peace.”
In his statement in the video posted, Mr Orbán stressed that due to the extremely stringent regulations in the United States, “at this time, the US president is not in a position to engage in talks about the issue of a ceasefire,” but the Prime Minister sincerely hopes that after 20 January, once Donald Trump has taken office, we will “experience” the beneficial effects of this development.
