Hungary supports extra EU migration funds

It was a long night, the French President evidently misremembers as at the EU summit Prime Minister Viktor Orbán supported the extra EU funds relating to migration, and continues to do so, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief said, responding to French President Emmanuel Macron’s statements made on Friday.

Mr Havasi made the Hungarian position clear after the French President said the following in connection with the EUR 50 billion aid package intended for Ukraine: Mr Orbán’s Thursday decision regarding the blocking of the agreement was ‘unfair’, given that the decision would also hinder – among others – the utilisation of funds dedicated to the management of migration.
