The Prime Minister said they want to occupy and transform the Brussels headquarters: they want a union which is an alliance of sovereign nations. “We do not want a federation, we do not want ‘an ever closer union,’ we want sovereign, proud European nations,” he stressed.
He recalled: for the first time in Europe’s history, the representatives of patriotic parties are gathering in Budapest in order to stand for European nations and European freedom in a joint proclamation.
“How many times have we heard that the Hungarian government’s policy is isolated, that they are tilting at windmills when they are fighting against the Brussels elite,” he recalled, adding, however, that this is a mistake. “We have clear goals, we have clear plans and we also have a clear roadmap, with the aid of which we will achieve our goals. This is why our guests are with us here today,” he said.
He highlighted: they want the whole of Europe to parade in patriotic and conservative colours by the end of the decade. This will be the greatest political realignment in the history of the European Union. “Those whom you have seen here today will be the leaders of the European Union in three years’ time,” he laid down.
“In actual fact, we are fighting for the soul of Europe,” he stressed, adding that this struggle is taking place on multiple scenes, at universities, at academies, in churches, in trade unions, and also in local communities.
“We are politicians who trust their own peoples, we promote our own nations’ cause, and we only owe responsibility to our own electors, for us all, our nations come first,” he said, addressing the attendees of the assembly.
He recalled that earlier they thought that all this was a dividing force, and that it made no sense for the patriotic forces to gather into a European alliance.
He highlighted, however: they realised that if they wanted to defeat the progressive globalists, patriots, too, had to organise themselves into an international alliance. “The geographical distances among our peoples are enormous, our historical experiences couldn’t be any more different; yet, we are connected together by one conviction, the belief that Europe can only be successful as the cooperation of free and sovereign nations, he pointed out.
In his view, the European political situation is “blocked.” The Patriots were formed in 2024, challenged the mainstream elite, and this struggle has resulted in a stalemate, he argued.
He said the failures of the Brussels liberal, global elite are evident: economic ruination, a declining industry, the utter failure of the green deal, the irreversibility of the migration situation, an energy crisis.
“The left-wing Brussels elite is becoming weaker with every day. We are on the other side, the strengthening Patriots,” he laid down.
He said the Patriots are becoming ever stronger in Central Europe, too, one of their founders, Andrej Babis is prime minister again in the Czech Republic, the Polish president is a Patriot, pro-sovereignty forces are gaining further in strength in Slovakia and Hungary, and so are the Patriots of the member candidate countries.
The Left governing Europe is still able to prevent the Patriots from achieving a breakthrough in Western Europe, he stressed, adding that despite its enormous failures, Brussels is still ruling the western half of Europe.
Mr Orbán said “Italy is doing fantastically well, the Right is impressive,” while Italian Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini is the strongest governmental factor of the Patriots in Western Europe. However, the Italian Patriots are continually compelled to make compromises with Brussels, he pointed out.
Regarding the French National Rally, he said “Marine Le Pen’s party is getting stronger and stronger,” and they can only be kept at bay with evident breaches of the law and anti-democratic means, but the ‘cordon sanitaire’ is still effective.
Mr Orbán took the view that Germany is again the sick man of Europe, but electors have not yet made up their minds to renew German politics completely.
He added: in Austria, we have yet to wait for the government of the Freedom Party of Austria and the chancellorship of party president Herbert Kickl. Without an Austrian success, the patriotic advance in Central Europe is not definitive and complete, only the Austrians’ and Herbert Kickl’s victory can make the Patriots’ victory in Central Europe “irreversible,” he stated in summary.
Praising the performance of the Patriots’ group in the European Parliament, the Prime Minister said “we are the only group in the European Parliament which says what they think without compromises, tactical concessions and the toxic Brussels blah-blah-blah, and does what is in the best interests of the European people. If not yet in size, in terms of common sense and loyalty to our people, already now we are Europe’s leading force.”
“In our European group, we learn the school of cooperation. This will be important knowledge when we will govern the Brussels institutions,” he stressed.
Mr Orbán also spoke about the fact that enormous forces have been mobilised in Europe against the patriotic Hungarian government, but despite this, on 12 April, the government parties will win the parliamentary elections in Hungary.
The Prime Minister said Brussels and Kiev have colluded because they want a government in Budapest which represents their interests. He added: Brussels has deployed an NGO network censoring the Internet, while Kiev has imposed an oil blockade on the Hungarians, and the Ukrainian propaganda machinery, too, “is pressing ahead at full throttle.”
He recalled: this week there will be elections in Denmark where they are rooting for the Danish People’s Party, there will be elections this year in Bulgaria, Estonia, Sweden and Latvia, while next year in France and Italy, and before the next EP elections, new parliaments will be elected in Romania, and with good chances, in Germany as well.
“We will forge ahead everywhere, we will arrive at the 2029 European elections in such a way that we will be the favourites, and then we will win the battle fought for the soul of Europe and the future of our nations, and will make Europe great again, Mr Orbán stressed.
He warned that Ukraine’s EU membership would pose an unbearable financial burden to the Member States and would bring the war into the EU; this would amount to the betrayal of European farmers and the European people.
He added: the EU does not even have enough money for itself; meanwhile, however, they are taking out loans in the hundreds of billions in the interest of Ukraine, thereby dragging the Member States into a debt spiral. “If we allow this, even our children will pay the burdens,” the Prime Minister pointed out.
He highlighted: amidst such threats, there is a need for patriotic leaders in Europe more than ever, we must stand up for the interests of the European people and nations.
He stressed: electors want peace and security, affordable prices and cheap energy, a predictable life and safe advancement.
This is what we must fight for, we must say no to the failed green transition, the sanctions, migration, the war and Ukraine’s EU membership, this is the only way we can save Europe, Mr Orbán laid down.
