Hungary continues to resist President Zelenskyy’s blackmail

Hungary continues to resist President Zelenskyy’s blackmail, and we will not give in on our demand that the Ukrainians resume oil shipments via the Druzhba crude oil pipeline, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on Saturday in a video posted on Facebook.

The Prime Minister said at the Százhalombatta oil refinery – the country’s only oil refinery which has been guarded by members of the military since Saturday – that the Ukrainian president rejected the joint proposal of the Hungarian and Slovak governments for the resolution of the situation. As a result, the Százhalombatta plant will continue to process Hungary’s strategic reserves, he added.

According to Mr Orbán, the Ukrainian oil blockade shows that President Zelenskyy “won’t stop at anything.” Therefore, from Saturday, soldiers and police officers will jointly guard the Százhalombatta oil refinery and the country’s other key energy facilities.

In the video, the Prime Minister thanked the authorities for their work, and then highlighted that in critical situations the Hungarian people could count on the Hungarian defence and police forces.
