According to Mr Orbán’s post, after many long months’ talks, an agreement was finally reached between employers and employees, and as a result, next year, the government will raise the minimum wage by 11 per cent, while the guaranteed wage minimum by 7 per cent.
Meaning that from 1 January, the incomes of 700,000 families in total will definitely increase, “and then we haven’t even mentioned the increased family benefits,” he wrote, adding that this is a major pledge, to which the government has contributed with an eleven-point tax reduction programme, thanks to which the tax burdens of small and medium-sized businesses will decrease by HUF 90 billion.
“I’d like to thank everyone who contributed to this important agreement. We profess that the economy must be developed, wages must be increased, taxes must be reduced. May we never have a worse start to the year,” Mr Orbán wrote.
