The Prime Minister added: “We have never lectured anybody. Neither in government, nor in opposition. We have never closed down the channels of negotiations.”
He added that it was difficult to convince anyone of anything without talking to them.
“And what’s the most important: for years, we have consistently and steadfastly stood for the cause of peace. Cooperation instead of confrontation; mutual respect instead of stigmatisation. This is the path of peace,” the Prime Minister wrote.
“Hungary is the country in Europe today where there is a serious chance that US-Russian talks might finally lead to peace. And where perhaps even European criteria might be taken into consideration. While Brussels has isolated itself, we continue to engage in talks,” Mr Orbán’s post reads.
