It’s never too late for peace

“It’s never too late for peace,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán highlighted on Wednesday on Facebook on the occasion that it had been a year to the day that he had visited Kiev.

The Prime Minister recalled that after a fourteen-hour journey, he had talked to President Zelenskyy about the possibility of a ceasefire and peace. “Already back then, I warned him that time was not on his side. Already back then, I warned him that the Russians had settled in for a long war, big changes were about to happen in America, while Europe was running out of reserves,” the post reads.

Mr Orbán wrote: President Zelenskyy did not listen to us. He advocated for the continuation of the war with all the self-confidence of a stage person.

“The war has been ongoing ever since, Europe is running out of reserves, while US weapons consignments are on the decrease. The Ukrainian people have been undergoing the horrors of war day after day ever since. This is not a theatre and not a television series. This is reality, in all its brutality,” the Prime Minister wrote.

“Hungary has stayed on the side of peace. It’s not too late even for President Zelenskyy to join,” Mr Orbán wrote, concluding his post.
