Manfred Weber cannot threaten, cannot instruct us

President of the European People’s Party Manfred Weber “cannot threaten Hungary’s national government, and neither can he instruct its prime minister,” Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stressed in a post he published on his social media account on Thursday.

The Prime Minister wrote: the Brussels politician’s statement that he is fed up with him and with unanimous decisions is not surprising at all. Mr  Weber is used to giving the puppet of the European People’s Party, the Tisza Party and its president, instructions. He blackmails them with the institution of immunity, laundering them clean of common crimes, Mr Orbán wrote in his post, adding that “while Mr Weber is known to suffer from Hungarophobia, he can’t afford to neglect the opinion of more than two million Hungarians on the issue of Ukraine.”

According to a review published in the daily Magyar Nemzet, in an interview released on the Internet website of a German newspaper, urging the cooperation of the coalition of the willing, Manfred Weber said “I’m especially fed up with Viktor Orbán dancing on the heads of European citizens. Europe’s capacity for action depends on whether we succeed in doing away with the principle of unanimity.”
