He said we want peace, we do not need a new eastern front, therefore, neither do we need Ukraine’s EU membership as Ukraine’s accelerated admission is a good excuse for the reorganisation of Europe under a war regime.
On the opening day of the two-day conference, welcoming attendees, Mr Orbán said many of Europe and America’s strongest patriotic and pro-sovereignty political leaders are present at the event. He described them as the toughest, the most determined and the most experienced leaders who had been fighting for their countries for decades in international politics, and who had endured many vicious attacks and smear campaigns. They know that without suffering there is no victory, he added, observing that the European liberals “would break down and cry, and would run away from half as many attacks, and would hide behind the skirts of progressive journalists.”
He welcomed the special speakers of the conference, including President of the CPAC Foundation Matt Schlapp whom he described as the person who recognised that the headwaters of conservative intellectual renewal were situated in Central Europe, and that what the Hungarian government had done “on a small scale” in Hungary could also be done on a big scale in America.
He introduced Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Kobakhidze as the Georgian hero of the international patriotic movement who – in his view – won the elections against the whole liberal world, wiping the progressives off the field, and produced Europe’s highest economic growth against the background of the fact that 20 per cent of his country “is under the feet of the Russian Bear.” He added that Mr Kobakhidze had not allowed Brussels to push them into a war, and had not allowed Georgia to become “a Ukraine Number Two.”
Mr Orbán referred to Prime Minister of North Macedonia Hristijan Mickoski as the captain of the fort who protected Europe’s southern borders against migration, and added that he had won the elections despite the fact that the whole of Brussels had supported his opponent.
Mr Orbán introduced Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico as the toughest, and as Europe’s greatest comeback, recalling the gun attack committed against him by “an agitated, inflamed liberal gang.”
He welcomed Andrej Babis as the Czech Republic’s “former and would-be prime minister,” recalling that for years they fought together in Brussels against pro-migration prime ministers. He took the view that the fact that today Hungary was “a migration-free zone” could not have been achieved without Andrej Babis.
He described President of the Spanish VOX party Santiago Abascal as a hero, and said today the patriots are compelled to endure the most brutal oppression in Spain, though in his view “the French and the Germans can’t complain either.” He stressed that if there was fair competition, VOX would already be governing Spain.
Mr Orbán also especially welcomed former Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, and expressed his support for Karol Nawrocki, the conservative candidate of the Polish presidential election due to be held on Sunday.
He took the view that “incredible things are happening” in Poland, the liberals are riding roughshod over all European rules and constitutional principles, and Brussels does not only tolerate, but also actively supports this. He added that he had been in European politics for 35 years, but had never before seen such a disgraceful state of affairs. He said this in referrence to what is currently being done to the Polish people and PiS. The Brussels leadership would have to leave for this alone, if for no other reason, he stressed.
He introduced co-chairwoman of AfD Alice Weidel as a representative of the Europe of Sovereign Nations party family, adding that their chief Brussels opponent was also a German, Manfred Weber whom he described as Hungarophobic, petty and vengeful. He observed that for the Hungarians it was good to see that there were “decent Germans” who loved their country more than Brussels.
He described President of the Austrian FPÖ (Freedom Party of Austria) Herbert Kickl as a person who had been “robbed” of the title of chancellor. He told him that politics was not always just, but there was a moral balance in it, and his time would come when Austria finally returned to the club of patriotic countries.
He also welcomed President of the Dutch PVV party Geert Wilders whom he referred to as Europe’s bravest fighter. He stressed that he lived in constant danger, was number one on the blacklist of fanatics, while neither did he ever receive a kind word from his left-wing progressive compatriots, only attacks.
Mr Orbán stated that Donald Trump’s victory in the US elections had brought about a veritable civilisational turnaround, and had given hope back to the world.
He recalled that at last year’s CPAC conference he had said that Donald Trump would win the US elections.
“He did. Next year, there will be elections in Hungary. Any more questions?” he added.
He stressed that Donald Trump had won, “the Trump Tornado swept through the world,” had changed it entirely, and had given hope back to the world.
We are not going to drown in “the woke ocean,” we are not going to be flooded by migrants, Donald Trump has given back the hope of a normal life and peace, the Prime Minister said, describing Donald Trump’s victory as the biggest comeback of the western world ever.
What a blow to the Left, he said about Donald Trump’s election victory, stating in continuation that not only did he return, but he is doing what he promised his electors. “I am stunned myself. That you can do this, that this is possible not only in Hungary,” he added.
He said Donald Trump’s first one hundred days is a veritable “truth serum” not only for America, but for the entire western world.
He mentioned the US President’s measures related to illegal immigration as well as the fact that he “cancelled gender regulations, banished critical race theory, banned woke ideology from the army.”
The US President “took on” the Deep State, and exposed the global liberal network. “Today, we have before us the entire Soros Empire naked: The emperor has no clothes. It’s a pretty ugly sight,” he said.
“Light is finally reaching even into the darkest corners. There is panicked shrieking here in Hungary, too.” A new law is coming: those who are engaged in politics are not allowed to accept money from abroad, he stressed.
He said Donald Trump’s victory and the fall of the liberals is like a dream, the United States may be saved. However, Brussels has stolen the European people’s dream, has derailed the European people’s future, and instead of a dream, the Europeans have been given a nightmare, he added.
He highlighted that the European people had the dream that if they combined forces, then there would be war no more, and then they could live in welfare and security. However, the European people do not feel safe in their own countries, became strangers in places where 20 years ago they were still at home. This is not integration, this is an organised population exchange, he stated.
Mr Orbán said instead of European welfare, businesses are going under as they are paying twice to four times more for electricity and gas than in the United States. He said the Green Deal is killing our economies.
When we should engage in talks about trade and tariffs with a heavyweight US president, it turns out that we only have featherweight leaders, he added.
Europe’s freedom is lost, too, a brutal fight for power is under way, Mr Orbán said, mentioning as examples that French politician Marine Le Pen has been disqualified from the presidential race with a court judgement, Italian politician Matteo Salvini was put on trial, the party Alternative for Germany (AfD) has been subjected to national security proceedings, while the events of the patriots are hindered with force.
Communist, left-wing thugs attack right-wing people, and US Vice-President JD Vance is right in that today, in Europe, freedom is threatened not from outside; attempts are being made to overthrow it from within, he pointed out.
“The whole machinery is shaking, caving in. We must change, things can’t continue like this,” he stated.
He said there are two plans on the table, one of which is a liberal plan, while the other one is a patriotic European plan; the liberal plan regards Christian Europe with the old cultural foundations as dated, something to be transcended.
He highlighted that the liberals had been working for years to fabricate a new identity to replace Christianity and the nation. First, they spoke about welfare: let go of your traditions, and then Europe will be a world of happy and unlimited consumption, he recalled.
This did not work, and then came the idea that Europe would become the continent of inclusion, but we got to a point where the football matches of the Belgian and Israeli teams had to be held in Budapest instead of Brussels, he added.
Europe wants to become the bastion of the global liberal empire, the liberals are fleeing from America to Brussels, after Washington, Brussels is their new Mecca, Mr Orbán said, taking the view that the biggest problem with Brussels is not even the fact that it is controlled by progressive, liberal bureaucrats, but that Brussels is pro-war.
While the United States finally became pro-peace, Brussels got stuck in the war, he stated.
He explained that according to the liberal plan, Europe had to be centralised with reference to the war. If the war continues, then there is even more Brussels, even less sovereignty. According to the liberal plan, Europe should build – with reference to the war – a new economic model, a war economic model. In their heads, the war is the engine of the economy. Collective debt, central leadership and wartime budget, and Ukraine is the key to this liberal plan, he stated in summary.
He pointed out that the accelerated EU membership of the Ukrainian state was a good enough excuse for the reorganisation of Europe under a war regime. The liberal plan leads to a warring, centralised and indebted Europe where there is no freedom, but there is obedience.
“Well, that’s the problem with Hungary. The Hungarian is a free species, a species that roams freely, and we have trouble bending our knees. Instead of obedience and subjection, the Hungarians tend to follow their own heads,” he said, highlighting that they, too, have a plan, a patriotic plan which consists of four points.
First of all, we want peace, we do not need a new eastern front, and therefore neither do we need Ukraine’s EU membership, he laid down.
Secondly, we want sovereignty. We do not want common taxes, we do not want collective borrowing, and we do not want centralised economic direction. And neither do we want our money to be sent to the war of a third country.
In third place he mentioned that we must protect freedom. We must give people back the freedom of politics, thinking and opinion, he stressed.
Fourthly, he laid down that we wanted to take Europe back from migrants. We want Christian culture, schools standing on national foundations, and streets and districts without fear. We want to be proud of our nations. This is the patriotic plan, the Prime Minister pointed out, highlighting that today and for quite a few years to come, European politics is and will be about which plan will prevail.
Mr Orbán described the result of the 2024 European Parliament elections as a brilliant feat, stating that the three right-wing groups combined are bigger than the group of the European People’s Party.
By the time the decisive battle comes, we will have to stand united, he stressed, adding that first, everyone must win at home: the Czechs in the autumn, the Hungarians next spring, and the French thereafter. Then we can start taking Brussels back into the hands of the patriots.
For this, we need America, and we need President Trump’s successful administration, he pointed out. We need to dismantle the American and Brussels liberal conspiracy, the transatlantic Deep State. We need to turn off the American liberal money taps. Meaning that the European and American patriots need one another, he pointed out.
“After America, we Europeans, too, will get our dreams back, and we will occupy Brussels. Let’s make Europe great again. Come on Hungary. Come on Patriots,” Mr Orbán said, concluding his speech.
