Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz Group AG as part of a working dinner 

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán received Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz Group AG Ola Källenius as part of a working dinner on Monday evening. 

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the investments of the German company in Hungary. The  Kecskemét plant has become the Mercedes-Benz Group’s second largest European automotive plant, employing almost 5,000 persons in Hungary. Thanks to the Kecskemét enlargement in progress also at present, by 2026, the company will create 3,000 new jobs, and will double its manufacturing capacity to 400,000 vehicles a year. The investment will significantly contribute to the expansion of Hungary’s automotive manufacturing capacity. 

The Prime Minister and the Chairman of the Management Board of Mercedes-Benz also discussed the global trade situation and issues concerning the reinforcement of the European Union’s competitiveness, the Communications Division of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.
