Prime Minister Viktor Orbán to have talks in Bratislava about energy security and Ukraine

As part of a working lunch on Tuesday in Bratislava, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán will conduct talks with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

The most important topic of the meeting will be Hungary and Slovakia’s energy security in the wake of the shutting down of gas transit via Ukraine. At the meeting, the parties will also touch upon the issue of Ukraine; the two leaders made it clear on several occasions in the past that Ukraine’s NATO membership was out of the question, while the country’s EU accession, too, would convey a number of threats, in particular, to European agriculture, the press chief reported.
