Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has convened Defence Council 

On Wednesday morning, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán convened a meeting of the Defence Council due to the latest developments of the war in Ukraine and the increased threat of the escalation of the conflict, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

In the Carmelite Monastery, the Prime Minister, the ministers and state secretaries concerned, the senior advisor for national security and the Chief of Staff will review the war situation after Washington authorised the deployment of western weapons deep inside Russian territory. 

The meeting of the Defence Council will also assess the Russian decision to extend the list of military threats against which Moscow allows the use of nuclear weapons, Mr Havasi reported.
