The Prime Minister who travelled to Beijing on Sunday said, in the morning he had talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping about Hungarian-Chinese economic relations, while in the afternoon he had a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Mr Orbán said today in Europe everyone wants to find an answer to the question: will there be a ceasefire in Ukraine?
For us Hungarians and the whole of Europe it would be key that the flood of refugees in our neighbourhood, the sanctions and the fighting should finally be brought to an end,
he stressed.
At the same time, the Prime Minister said the answer he received from the Russian President “was far from reassuring.”
He stated that it is in light of this that Hungary’s steps in the coming months should be planned.
“Therefore, for us Hungarians it is important to be able to maintain Hungarian-Russian cooperation in the fields of energy and other economic issues also despite the war,” Mr Orbán pointed out.
