Cabinet meeting: War and peace as well as fight against inflation on the agenda

A cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán was held today in the Carmelite Monastery, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the meeting, the attending cabinet members reviewed the latest developments of the war in Ukraine and the diplomatic steps to be taken in the near future in the interest of peace and a ceasefire.

The attending cabinet members agreed that in the area of the economy, knocking inflation down was the most important task; to this end, the government has already decided on the adoption of effective measures, including the introduction of mandatory promotions for supermarkets and the online price monitoring system.

The attendees of the cabinet meeting reviewed the results of the fight against inflation so far, and explored further measures that were required with a view to reducing inflation to a single digit within the shortest possible time, Mr Havasi reported.
