Relations between Hungary and Greece to become especially valuable

Prime Minister Viktor Orbán congratulated Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on his election victory in a message, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

“Please allow me to take this opportunity to congratulate you on the election victory of the New Democracy party and your repeated appointment as prime minister of the Hellenic Republic. In the past few years, we have done a great deal to make relations between Hungary and Greece amicable. During this period fraught with international challenges, our cooperation based on mutual respect is becoming especially valuable,” Mr Orbán wrote.

He further wrote that he was happy “to be able to continue the cooperation we started earlier and to further strengthen our bilateral relations in the areas of stopping illegal immigration, securing our energy supply and supporting the integration of the countries of the Western Balkans into the European Union.”
