For us Hungary’s security is the number one priority

In the early hours of Thursday morning, due to intensifying fighting in the Ukraine-Russia war, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán convened the Defence Council, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

At the meeting held in the Carmelite Monastery, Mr Orbán stressed that while a ceasefire and peace would be the most important, from tonight fighting in the Ukraine-Russia war has intensified. For us Hungary’s security continues to remain the number one priority, the Prime Minister underlined.

The meeting of the Defence Council was attended by Defence Minister Kristóf Szalay-Bobrovniczky, Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, Antal Rogán, the Prime Minister’s cabinet chief, Chief of Staff Gábor Böröndi, Brigadier General Norbert Tajti, State Secretary-international chief advisor József Kovács and János Nagy, the State Secretary heading the Office of the Prime Minister, Mr Havasi reported.
