Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks with President of Turkey

On Wednesday evening, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán had talks over the telephone with re-elected President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan who invited him to his inauguration ceremony to be held on Saturday, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI.

Mr Orbán congratulated the head of state on his election victory. He said the decision of Turkish electors and Turkey’s stability are good news for the whole of Europe as the continent is facing a number of security challenges, and therefore needs a strong and reliable Turkey.

Recep Tayyip Erdogan thanked Mr Orbán for the congratulations, expressed his willingness to further develop Hungarian-Turkish relations and congratulated Mr Orbán on his birthday. He additionally invited Mr Orbán to his inauguration ceremony to be held in Turkey on Saturday; the Hungarian Prime Minister accepted the invitation, Mr Havasi reported.
