Those who want peace should join us

Those who want peace should join us, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán wrote on his Facebook account on Saturday morning ahead of the Győr anti-war rally.

He recalled: the Russians are bombing Kiev, the Ukrainians the Russian shoreline of the Black Sea. The Germans introduced conscription. In Brussels, new sanctions are on the table. They would confiscate the Russians’ European assets. In Ukraine, a wartime mafia is pilfering European funds.

Mr Orbán highlighted that in the meantime in Hungary, we had doubled the allowances of foster parents, had decided on the introduction of the fourteenth monthly pension, were in the process of giving mothers with two and three children tax exemption, had launched Europe’s largest housing programme and were also working on a grant programme for small and medium-sized enterprises at full speed.

“The difference is enormous. For now,” the Prime Minister said. He added that there was a war in our neighbourhood, however. Unless we are careful, it will reach us, too. Unless we keep our wits about us, the Brussels war plan will also get the better of Hungary. Unless we combine forces, those will enter into power who “stand with Ukraine in every respect, except they don’t say so for the time being due to the elections.” “This is why we’re holding an anti-war rally today.”

“Those who want peace should join us. Let’s meet in Győr,” Mr Orbán wrote in conclusion.
