Thirteenth monthly pension to be paid on Wednesday, the elderly can count on the government 

The 13^th monthly pension is to be paid on Wednesday; the elderly can count on the government, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán stated on his social media account on Wednesday. 

In a video posted on his Facebook account, Mr Orbán said he has more good news to share, on 12 February a double pension will be transferred to the bank accounts of all pensioners as in February, in addition to the normal pension, pensioners will also receive a 13^th monthly pension. 

“This is a veritable feat, an achievement which every actor of the Hungarian economy works for day after day,” he said, adding that, naturally, it has its opponents, the Brussels bureaucrats, Hungarian economists and members of the opposition who would do away with the 13^th monthly pension. 

“We, however, set out already in 2010 to build a country where elderly compatriots are appreciated. The 13^th monthly pension – beyond the money involved – is also about that appreciation. As long as we are behind the steering wheel, everyone can rest assured that the 13^th monthly pension will be paid,” the Prime Minister said.
