Prime Minister Viktor Orbán consulted with the interior minister about child protection well into the evening

For several hours on Friday evening in the Carmelite Monastery, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán consulted with the interior minister and several other members of the government about issues related to education, with special regard to the protection of children against gender ideology, Bertalan Havasi, the head of the Press Office of the Prime Minister informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. On his social media account, the Prime Minister wrote: the incident that occurred in the Óbuda school had deeply shocked and horrified him as a parent.

In a radio interview given in the morning, the Prime Minister said due to the incident that occurred in the Óbuda school, during the course of the day he will expect from the interior minister “a very clear answer” about “where representatives of the state whose duty it would be to watch over our children are”. He added that “we can only protect our children against gender ideology” if we showcase the threats emerging on the horizon, “and here the state has a duty.”

This is what gender ideology does, this is not some messing about, this is not some fooling around, that boys dressed as girls and girls dressed boys go into our schools to sensitise our children. This is not some trendy babble or chit-chat, but a threat against which we must protect our children,

In the evening on his social media account the Prime Minister wrote that the incident that had occurred in the Óbuda school had deeply shocked and horrified him as a parent. “As a politician it is my duty to do everything I can to make sure that incidents like this should never happen again. Therefore, this afternoon I consulted with Interior Minister Sándor Pintér. Protecting our children is our first and foremost duty,” he said.
