Prime Minister Viktor Orbán conducted flood protection inspection at Dunaszekcső

Today, the flood will be leaving Hungary; the peaking of the Danube is currently affecting the most southerly parts of the country. Therefore, on Tuesday, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán inspected the flood defence effort in Dunaszekcső, Bertalan Havasi, the Prime Minister’s press chief informed the Hungarian news agency MTI. 

The Prime Minister met with Member of Parliament János Hargitai, Mayor János Faller and Mayor of Mohács Gábor Pávkovics at the Dunaszekcső ferry port. In their company, he heard the status reports of the water and disaster management authority personnel regarding the situation on the southern section of the Danube. 

In Dunaszekcső, the necessary flood protection facilities are 100 per cent complete. Mobile pumps have been installed. In places, minor cracks and seepages have developed, but these do not require significant interventions. Experts are continuously monitoring the situation, the onsite personnel reported.
