According to a communiqué released by the Vatican, after the morning audience with the Pope, the Hungarian Prime Minister was received by the Vatican’s Secretary of State Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Under Secretary for Relations with States Miroslaw Wachowski. During the meeting at the Secretariat of State, which took place in a cordial atmosphere, the sound and fruitful bilateral relations were evoked and keen appreciation was expressed for the commitment of the Catholic Church to the promotion of the development and wellbeing of Hungarian society, the Holy See reported.
During the dialogue, particular attention was paid to the war in Ukraine, focusing on the humanitarian consequences and the efforts to promote peace. In addition, some themes of common interest were examined, such as the Hungarian presidency of the Council of the European Union, the central role of the family and the protection of young generations, the communication reads.
